A simple “Thank You” seems inadequate for the overwhelming pos- itive response we got from our first Concrete Report sent out in January. You all gave us great feedback and ideas for future issues. Be sure to check out the partial list of winners from January’s “Play to Win” game on the back page. They're each receiving a snappy black MCA cap emblazoned with our 25th Anniversary logo.

Did you know that MCA started out in a single location in Arlington Heights in a small 3,000 sq. ft warehouse space back in 1976? My brother, Jim, and four friends started MCA with less than a $20,000 investment. Today MCA has three locations totaling over 45,000-sq. ft., two of the locations with outdoor yards, nearly 20 trucks on the road everyday, and over $1.5 million in inventory. The point of all this? We could not have done it without you. THANK YOU!

In this issue take a look at:

  • How to keep your crew dry in the wet sloppy months that mean springtime in Chicago. (See “Seasonal Scoreboard”)
  • The answer to when it makes sense to use fiber concrete versus wire mesh. See our popular “Ask Jimbo” section. (Send us your questions, too!)
  • “What’s New at MCA” for the latest on the three new skid-steers from Thomas.
  • Milwaukee’s rotary hammers and hammer-drills are our featured “Most Valuable Product.” And to help you add a couple of these gems to your toolbox, check out MCA’s special pricing insert.
  • How to win one of MCA’s Anniversary caps. After reading the newsletter, hit the “Play to Win” section and play. (Hint: All the answers are in the newsletter.)

We’re always looking for your feedback on The Concrete Report, but in this issue we are also looking for feedback on E-commerce and the Internet and how it might affect your business. Please take a few minutes on the back page to let us know how you would like to use this technology in the future. Or e-mail us at Feedback@multipleconcrete.com. We welcome your input and questions.

And, again, thank you for everything!

Sincerely,
Mike Longfield
President, MCA
