| It’s called Heat King!
Heat King is a mobile glycol radiant heating system that can thaw
up to one foot of frozen ground per day over an 11,000 square foot
area. In fact, it is up to 6 times faster than conventional forced
air systems.
MCA owns several of these units and started renting them out last
winter. “We found that once our customers tried them, we had
a hard time getting them back in the shop for the next scheduled
customer,“ says Mike Longfield, MCA President. “They
can’t get over how easy these units are to use and how well
they work.”
Using the system is quite simple. It’s a matter of laying
out a series of eight 700 foot lengths of hose, covering the hose
with poly sheeting and insulated tarps and turning on the system
at the truck unit. If you get confused about the operation the directions
are printed right on the unit. The knobs and controls are designed
to be user friendly - even if the user has on heavy winter gloves.
The Heat King is safe, too. There is no open flame and the temperature
and pressures are much lower than conventional hot air systems.
These units are much more time and fuel efficient than conventional
systems because they use the moisture content of the soil to carry
the heat down into the ground. Space heaters usually thaw the first
foot of ground quickly but getting beyond that is a slow process
that not only burns up time but a lot of money for fuel. In fact,
the Heat King reduces energy costs by up to 80%.
And because of the Heat King’s unique glycol heating system
and precise digital temperature controls, the heat that it puts
out is so consistent it allows you to more evenly cure concrete
slabs, foundations, and walls in extreme cold conditions. By using
the poly and thermal blankets you can keep the temperature at a
nice even 72-78 degrees.
So if you’re looking to keep making money this winter and
you need a way to
- Thaw the ground,
- Prepare foundation sites, or
- Simply cure concrete more completely
