We worked hard this past summer to keep customers like you fully stocked so you could make money! Thanks for your trust and business. We appreciate both.

  • Over the summer, we also worked to revise the layout of our newsletter. We hope you'll give us your feedback in our "What Do You Think?" section.
  • On the back page we introduce you to a new section "MCA Employee Spotlight" and to our Palatine Store Counter Crew. See who's on the other end of the phone when you call in.
  • The "Ask Jimbo" section answers multiple questions on curing and sealing products.
  • Products and tips to make your lives -- and jobs -- easier are scattered throughout.
  • Think about cutting out the MCA Team Roster and Tool Tips on the back cover for handy future reference.

Thanks again for a great summer season and let's keep going into the fall and winter.
Happy Holidays to you all!
Mike Longfield
President

It seems like in the concrete business we're either making holes (see "What's New at MCA") or filling them in. One of the three Conspec® products that are this quarter's MVP's help you fill in holes, while the other two help you smooth out the rough spots.

Special Patch® is a polymer-modified, two-component concrete repair mortar that's used in thin- and thick-section concrete patching and overlays. Because it delivers excellent freeze-thaw resistance, superior adhesion, and resistance against the penetration of de-icing salts and other contaminants, it's ideal for repairing exterior concrete pavements. It's also great for parking deck repairs, ramps and roadways, and interior floors subjected to heavy loads and abrasion.

Overcrete® is also a two-component, polymer-modified product. It's a cementitious coating product providing an attractive and decorative appearance to irregular concrete or concrete that has been damaged by freeze thaw, de-icers, finishing flaws, progressive scaling, or inadequate curing. It's ideal for around patios, porches, steps, driveways, sidewalks, entrances, and swimming pools in both vertical and horizontal applications. Since it adds durability, freeze thaw resistance, and flexibility to concrete surfaces, it's also good for exterior above and below grade applications.

All concrete floors that need to be leveled and/or resurfaced should be topped with a self-leveling, polymer-modified material. Conflow® is such a product. Use it as an underlayment for interior applications for new concrete, old concrete, old concrete with cutback, tile or terrazzo, wood, and special shot-blasted surfaces.

Got questions on any of these products? Call MCA at 847-438-2000! We'll be glad to "fill you in"!
