This past year has been a real testimony to the courage and perseverance of the workers of our great nation. In the face of uncertain economic times and downright frightening political events the American worker has courageously continued to do his or her job - day in and day out. Whether you're a pilot, flight attendant, firefighter or construction worker, this country could not be what it is today without your efforts - and spirit. This issue is dedicated to the countless workers who have kept this country going over the past twelve months and our sincere thanks go out to each and every one of you!

Our efforts are always aimed at making your life easier and this issue is no exception. This issue covers new product ideas, traditional - but perhaps forgotten - tool maintenance tips, and informational reference charts. We always keep the fun going with our Play to Win section. We'd like to see some new folks participate in the fun - Give it a try!

When a product claims that it's “New and Improved“ we get a bit skeptical. It's all been done before, right? - Not this time.

Target®, a 50-year-old manufacturer of diamond blades, core bits and equipment for the concrete industry, truly has improved its line of 18'' walk-behind concrete saws. These improvements add up to higher quality cutting results with less effort for the operator.

The Mini Con® II has been improved so much that Target even changed its name. It's now known as the MC18.

This redesigned saw's improved weight distribution better holds the blade in the cut providing consistent depth at increased forward speeds, yet it's lightweight and easy to operate.

The MC 18's E-Z Tilt System is a unique spring assisted counter balance system that provides an oversized and comfortable lock handle allowing the operator to lock the saw up, out of the cut, or to lock the saw down, in the cut. This same system allows the operator to easily keep his eye on the cutting depth of the blade since the indicator is located right next to the lock handle.

The reinforced box type axle assembly and frame increases stability when raising and lowering and provides for less vibration leading to better blade performance.

The water tubes are removable for easy cleaning and they have crimped (not clamped) connectors to keep them in place and to reduce the chance for leaks. Located next to the handle, the brass water valve is easy for the operator to reach.

Last, but not least, the handle bar is adjustable, sliding up and down to suit the size of the operator. Large cushioned grips on the bar provides added comfort, too!

The best news about Target's MC18 walk-behind saw? You can rent or purchase one anytime at MCA. We've got them in stock for your convenience.
