MCA carries the latest fall protection products from a safety equipment industry leader, Elk River, so there's NO EXCUSE to be lax in this critical area.

So what do you need? Well, all Fall Protection Systems require three components: an anchorage point, appropriate body wear (i.e., a full body harness) and a connecting device.

OSHA defines "anchorage" as "a secure point of attachment for lifelines, lanyards, or deceleration devices." You need to attach the fall protection equipment to some point on a structure that is capable of supporting at least 5,000 pounds. (See OSHA Subpart M, 1926.502 (15) for the full requirements.)

The basic component of any personal fall protection system is a full body harness designed to permit the wearer freedom of movement as well as providing sufficient strength to safely arrest the most severe fall. Elk River's Master Series Full Body Harnesses meet those requirements as well as add functionality and convenience for the wearer by including a removable tool belt to the unit.

The connecting device (between the anchor point and the harness) offered by MCA is Elk River's NoPacTM two-part, shock absorbing lanyard that eliminates the traditional shock absorber pack. The shock absorbing material is covered with a full strength outer sheath that acts as a backup lanyard. An impact indicator is included to alert the user if the unit has already been impacted by a fall arrest. If it has been so used, then that lanyard must be permanently taken out of service.

MCA and its suppliers have what you need to keep safe. Please be sure to ask your MCA Sales Rep for the best products for your applications. And stay safe!
