Doug Neumann - Service Guy Extraordinaire!

If you think "Extraordinaire" is an overstatement you surely have not met - or needed repair service from - Doug Neumann in MCA's Elgin location!

Since Doug started with MCA in October of 1999 he has devoted himself to repairing hand tools and pieces of larger equipment for MCA's customers. Some customers actually believe he "performs magic" on the tools they bring in because he is able fix the "unfixable" - and do it with quick turnaround times.

Tony Kulavic at Builders Bloc Contracting tells us that "When we bring tools in for repairs they are fixed right..and we're very satisfied with the turnaround time." He's also glad that Doug will repair tools and equipment not purchased at MCA.

Doug knows how important his work is to the contractor. "If a tool is not working, usually the contractor isn't working - or at least not as efficiently as he should be," says Neumann. "The most important part of my job is to make sure our customers are able to keep on working and making money."

Doug Neumann from the Elgin Location

Off the job, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife of 23 years, two young sons, and his 4-year old black Lab. He also enjoys computers, woodworking and working in his yard.

Doug finds his time on the job satisfying, too. He enjoys the customers, vendors and co-workers. On good days, they just add to the fun. On frustrating days (days when needed parts are on back order or there are many tools torn apart on the bench) his colleagues and acquaintances keep him going.

Customers are always invited to stop by and visit with Doug when they're in the Elgin store. One thing he likes to show folks is his samples of fuel drained from different pieces of equipment -- fuel that was damaging the tools because water and rust particles were clogging tiny ports, passages, and jets. (see Tool Tips below) "Always check your fuel supplies for water contamination," says Neumann. "Just keeping your fuel supply at a high quality level will eliminate the need for most repairs."

A. To do this requires "one-sided forming" against existing concrete. It sounds more complicated than it is. Just follow these steps and it will be done - and done correctly - before you know it!

First, you need to lay our your tie location on the existing concrete wall. Then you drill holes to the diameter and depth specified by the epoxy manufacturer. Next, install 1/2'' diameter Symons lagstuds, being careful to stay back 4 1/2'' from the finished wall. Then thread on the 4'' B-3 Dayton Richmond coil tie. At this time add on the optional 1 1/2'' cone if needed.

Next you will screw the Symons plylag into the coil tie and make your final adjustment. Set your Symons Steel-Ply forms and attach to the plylags with wedge bolts. Now you're ready to pour the dreaded dead wall.

Simple as that! If you need help with your specific situation, call your MCA Sales Rep.
